Edinburgh Half Marathon for Prostate Cancer Research

When I informed my family that I had prostate cancer they all reacted in different ways. My son Donald decided to raise funds for Prostate Cancer research. To this end he is running in the Edinburgh half marathon on 29th May.  I feel very proud that he is willing to do this.

If you would like to help his fundraising please go to Just Giving and search Donald Jarvie to donate or alternatively you can give any donation to me or Margaret at church, the Tea Fellowship or put an envelope marked Donald Jarvie Fundraising in the offering plate and I will forward it to Donald.                                                       John Jarvie

Tuesday, 31st May –

Following on from Kirk Session meetings working groups are being set up to look at various aspects of mission and involve as many in the wider congregation as possible.  One such group is the Nurture Group looking at how we might help each other grow in faith, especially our children and young people.  If this is something that you are interested in, please come along to a meeting at 7 p.m. in the Blue Room.  For more details please be in touch with the minister

SUNDAY, 5th June -  There will be an “indoor street party” on Sunday, 5th June to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.

This will take place immediately after Sunday morning worship. There will be sandwiches and cakes as well as a time to catch up for the first time as a congregation over lunch since before the pandemic.  You can, of course, get dressed up to the nines for this event!

Donations will be in aid of Christian Aid.

To help with catering could you put your name on the sheet provided at the end of the service.

A plea for Pre loved Kitchenware – One of the latest Academy Family Support Programmes involves families cooking together at home.

The plan is to have a collection of pre-loved or new kitchenware items for parents to take and use. The parents will be in school on a Friday afternoon and will focus on the recycling element of using pre-loved kitchenware.

If anyone in your congregation would like to donate items (plates, cups, utensils, pots anything really – and doesn’t need to be all matching – just usable) then they can be left at the church at any of our services.

The programme is running for the next 4 weeks
