Edinburgh Half Marathon for Prostate Cancer Research
When I informed my family that I had prostate cancer they all reacted in different ways. My son Donald decided to raise funds for Prostate Cancer research. To this end he is running in the Edinburgh half marathon on 29th May. I feel very proud that he is willing to do this.
If you would like to help his fundraising please go to Just Giving and search Donald Jarvie to donate or alternatively you can give any donation to me or Margaret at church, the Tea Fellowship or put an envelope marked Donald Jarvie Fundraising in the offering plate and I will forward it to Donald. A plea for Pre loved Kitchenware – One of the latest Academy Family Support Programmes involves families cooking together at home.
The plan is to have a collection of pre-loved or new kitchenware items for parents to take and use. The parents will be in school on a Friday afternoon and will focus on the recycling element of using pre-loved kitchenware.
If anyone in your congregation would like to donate items (plates, cups, utensils, pots anything really – and doesn’t need to be all matching – just usable) then they can be left at the church at any of our services.
The programme is running for the next 3 weeks
