A TIME TO STOP . . . A TIME TO PRAY

Please pause with me at 12 noon today to continue to reflect on the current situation
but also the love and mercy of God.

Readings -

Psalm 130

Ezekiel 36: 8 - 15

Luke 24: 44 - 53

"How long?" people are asking. An understandable question in these difficult days.

"How long is a piece of string," has been the answer on a few occasions. Again,
understandable with something that is "unprecedented". We don't know the answer
but we have the assurance of what lies beyond it. Life will return where hope rises
and truly takes a grip.

"But on the mountains of Israel the trees will again grow leaves and bear fruit for you . . ."

Our faith truly gives us "strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow".

Collect (small prayer) -
God, the well-spring of our life,
pour into our hearts the living water of your grace
that, refreshed by you,
we may live this day
in steadfast reliance on your strength;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.
